Some helpful software info...

I have had many questions about what software I use to merge appliques and fonts and I wanted to let everyone know that I use Sew What Pro.

You can find info about Sew What Pro at http://www.sandscomputing.com/

They have a trial version that last 30 days that is FREE! And if you like it you can purchase the software for only $65 bucks! It is very user friendly and a very resonable price! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks!

Gobble Gobble!!

I have made quite a few Turkey shirts already this year for the Christmas in the Valley show...however I had to make some for my kiddos too ;) Honestly, I didn't think I would make one for my son Max because he is 4 and wasn't sure if he would want one....he proved me wrong. He asked me specifically if I was going to make him one!! Yay!! Glad he isn't growing up too fast!!

This little turkey applique comes from Applique Momma! I used the satin stitch here. I actually did it by accident on Max's shirt but I think I may like it better....I added a sweet little bow to Emery's turkey!! Got make it a little girlie ;)

Question and Answer Time

Recently I have had a lot of comments on my posts. I honestly have no idea how to respond back to people (especially when I don't realize until a month later that someone has commented). And I am so sorry for this. I don't want to seem rude...I hope no one is taking it that way. Anyways...a few questions I have had recently....
What kind of machine do you have?
I have a Brother PE 700 II. It goes up to a 5x7 size. I LOVE LOVE it!! I definitely think this is great for first timers. I wouldn't get the 4x4 machine unless you just can't afford the extra dollars to put into a bigger machine. I have fellow embroiders who wished they didn't waste their money on the 4x4 machine.

Is your machine sewing and embroidery?
No, my machine is embroidery only machine. I have a separate sewing machine that I use. I just prefer it this way as I don't want to have to switch back and forth between settings and such. I really don't know much about a joint machine.

What can your machine do?
Anything and everything you want to do with it. For example: shirts, bibs, burp cloths, towels, etc. With the exceptions of bulky items like lunch boxes, back packs and anything that you can't get your hoop into the item.

Where do you get all your blanks from?
Everywhere...LOL
No really I get them at Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Children's Place, Monag, and recently a new place I LOVE called Blanks Boutique! I also find random things other places to monogram or put an applique on ;)

Okay I think that covers the few questions I have had lately. Please Please let me know if you have any other questions or need some pointers. I would be happy to help!!

getting a start of FALL stuff!!

I meant to post this a while back...however I didn't get the pants made to go with the shirt until just days before Halloween ;) Love love this cute top I made for Em. The applique is a ghost patch and it comes from Applique Market. I merged in the E using the Jelly Bean font from The Itch 2 Stitch!
Max's shirt is the bat from Embroidery Boutique. I used the zigzag option. Simple and cute!
Kids together with their adorable outfits!! I made the pants using a really easy pant pattern from Viola Lee Patterns on Etsy. It is called the Becky Lee Ruffle Pants. So so cute if you like the longer ruffle style!!
I got the black short sleeve shirts from Walmart (boys and girl) and the brown short sleeve shirt was from Old Navy.
These pair of pants were using the same pattern. I actually made them first to see if I would like them. Turned out I LOVED them and so did Em. Anyways...the candy corn applique is from Embroidery Boutique!
And lastly, a little dress I picked up online from Monag. I used the Dollhouse font from The Itch 2 Stitch and the applique pumpkin at the bottom is from Applique Cafe! So so cute!!

Shirts for Christmas in the Valley!

Like I said I have been busy these last few weeks!! Tracy and I also made some shirts to have at sale. We tried to do simple designs that were cute!!
First design is a layered Christmas tree applique from Applique Momma. I did the zigzag option. Love love how this turned out!!
Next...a little raggy pumpkin applique design from Embroidery Boutique!
The zigzag football design again :) This is from Applique Cafe.

Both the football goal and football with grass below are from Applique Cafe!! All boy designs!!

This cute little turkey has been POPULAR!! The design came from Applique Momma and I used the zigzag option for most of my shirts!

The snowman applique and santa came from Embroidery Boutique!!
And lastly this little reindeer applique. I found him at Stitch on Time. He is pretty cute but both the Santa and Reindeer were a little time comsuming so I didn't make but one of each of these for the show.
There were a few more designs that I did...will have to add them to this post asap.
As for people wanting to know where I got my blank shirts. A lot of them are actually from Walmart. Garanimals brand t-shirts. Some I got from Monag. And a few others are from Target.

another big order...

Somehow I forgot to post this blog post a while back....
This was another big order for my friend Melissa. She brought me this cute little dress to add an applique and initial too. We came up with this adorable owl applique from Applique Cafe! The Z is done using the Curlz font!
Gumball machine applique is from Planet Applique!! It is a fun one to do as you can use real buttons to fill the inside with or there is an option to do embroidery gumballs too!

I did this football and soccer ball before. Zigzag football and the soccer design are both from Applique Cafe!
With this order I got to try out my good friend Tracy's NEW 6 needle machine!!
It was so AMAZING and I can't wait to get one.....one day.....
We made quite a few of these shirts for Melissa and her son's baseball team!!
I made the SOX design using the Cade Applique Font from Embroidery Boutique. Turned out so cute!!
All the little ones I made on my machine. I used the baseball design from Applique Market and then I added it to a square patch for the boy shirt. The font used on the black dresses and onesie is Green Bean front from Applique Frenzy. The one on the white shirt is Cleopatra from 8 Claws and a Paw.

Towels for Christmas in the Valley!

Been VERY BUSY lately!! My good friend Tracy asked me to help her out with a little craft show that she was participating in. I said SURE!! So we decided to have towels for sale at the show so we got busy making these!! First up is an applique from Applique Market!!
This pumpkin applique is from Applique Market as well. However, using Sew What Pro I deleted the scallop patch that was with the design! So cute!
This little zigzag turkey applique is from Applique Momma! This was everyone's favorite as this little guy SOLD OUT at the show!!
The raggy ornament applique is from Applique Cafe!
The christmas tree applique is from Embroidery Boutique....
as well as this zigzag cross design below!!
I think we ended up making almost 80 towels for the sale!! So much fun!!

Apples...apples...

I got this cute little dress from a Kelly's Kids Warehouse sale I went to a while back. I think it was $15 bucks or so. I have been wanting to put something on the tab so I decided on some apples with Emery's initial in the middle. I used this embroidery apple design from Applique Momma. Then using Sew What Pro I flipped the image. The letter E is from my Curly Monogram Font I have....not sure where I got it from.
Love how it turned out!!

Minnie Birthday!!

This is a little late as my daughter's birthday was back in August!!
Made this cute little outfit using the Minnie applique from Applique Market. I merged in her name using Walt Disney Font from 8 Claws and a Paw. The t-shirt is from Blanks Boutique!! Loving this new place for blanks!!
I made the skirt using the Easy Skirt Pattern from You Can Make This. Com!! So simple and cute!!

Memphis Tigers and TN Vols!!

My husband graduated from Memphis and I graduated from UT Knoxville so here's to supporting both them!! The first design is something I merged together. It is the Cade Applique Font from Embroidery Boutique. I did the zig zag stitch.

Second shirt is something I do before. I just changed up the font. The applique comes from Applique Cafe and I merged in Go Tigers using the love letters font from Jolson's Designs. So cute!!
