Some helpful software info...

I have had many questions about what software I use to merge appliques and fonts and I wanted to let everyone know that I use Sew What Pro.

You can find info about Sew What Pro at http://www.sandscomputing.com/

They have a trial version that last 30 days that is FREE! And if you like it you can purchase the software for only $65 bucks! It is very user friendly and a very resonable price! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks!

a few girl things...

Made a few things for my daughter Emery too! This raggy flower with ric rac is from Applique Cafe! Shirt and skirt from Walmart. I bought an extra one to use for the applique on the shirt!!
Close up of the flower!!

Another shirt and skirt from Walmart!! Just can't beat the prices!! Made this gumball machine from Planet Applique! I used vinyl for the bubble and added buttons inside. Love how it turned out!! It was super easy!! Now if I would have just not sewn the machine down so low on the shirt it would have looked a little better! Oh well...it's still cute!!
Emery's swimsuit cover up to coordinate with one of her swimsuits!! This whale comes from Embroidery Boutique and I used the zig-zag stitch out. Then I sewed a button in the place of the embroidered eye. Love Love Love it!!

This cute little number was made in the intention of me making a matching shirt for me! The raggy heart cross is from Applique Cafe!! Such a cute applique!! Tank is from Walmart and little skirt is from Old Navy!
New up...a classic outfit!! Embroidered the dots patch from The Itch 2 Stitch and merged in the monogram using Monogram 1 from Zoey's Designs. Shirt is from Walmart and the shorts I got from Jetterbugs.

And lastly...another classic beach outfit!! The design is from Applique Frenzy and it gives you the option to use actual ric-rac but I choose to use the stitch out ric-rac instead. Turned out pretty stinking cute!! Another shirt from Walmart and shorts from Jetterbugs!!

Sports...sports....sports!!

Lately, I have been trying to get some things made for my kids...
First up is a cute applique from Applique Market!! Turned out super cute!! My first time to use ric rac with the embroidery machine! Love it!!
Second design is one I have made before. I used the embroidered baseballs from Embroidery Boutique and using Sew What Pro I reflected the baseballs off each other then merged in the M using the Scooter font from Jolson's Designs! Cute and Easy!!
Last up is an applique from Applique Corner!! It is actually a set of all the numbers with basketballs. With Max becoming a big 4 year old in just a month I went ahead and did the 4 design!! He was super excited about it too!! He can't wait to turn 4!!

stitching on ribbon!!

My first attempt at sewing on ribbon was a success!! I found a tutorial on Rosemary's Applique Cafe blog but I didn't have any sticky stabilizer that she used so I just rigged up my own thing. A couple of straight pins held the ribbon in place just fine!
I actually made this ribbon to sew on a whistle for Max's soccer coach. Just a funny little end of the season gift for him. (Basically we are poking fun at all the other coaches because most of them were very serious, had team names, and whistles) so....Grant came up with a team name towards the end of the season as you see above. So we thought he just had to have a whistle from his little team!!
I should have centered the ribbon to be cute out the same length at the end....but I will know for next time!! The font I used here is Scooter font from Jolson's Designs!

end of the year gift...

Max's teachers asked me to monogram some towels that they wanted to give the kids for their end of the year gift! Of course I couldn't say no!! LOL
I am so glad I did it though!! They turned out super cute and it was totally worth it!! The teachers and the kids LOVED them!! The girls font is Grins and Giggles from Applique Frenzy and I merged in the embroidered dragonflies from Applique Momma!
The boys font is Cleopatra from 8 Claws and a Paw and I merged in the embroidered crabs from Applique Momma's mini summer set!

a few things...

My friend Melissa dropped off a few things the other day for me to monogram for her. I almost told her I lost the things she brought so I could put Emery's name on them!! LOL I love this dress she found at a consignment sale below!! I put Zoey's name on it using the Curlz font!! So stinking cute!!
And just how precious is this sunsuit that doubles for a swimsuit!! She had this made for her daughter!! I just added a Z using the curlz font!
Melissa got these little onesies and pants from Walmart for a baby gift. I added the name Charlie using the Millie font from Jolson's Designs.
And lastly, Max's old teacher Mrs. Shana brought me a blanket to monogram. She also got this at Walmart! So cute!! I added the name Aubree using the Delightful font from G G designs. Yay, for new babies!!
