Some helpful software info...

I have had many questions about what software I use to merge appliques and fonts and I wanted to let everyone know that I use Sew What Pro.

You can find info about Sew What Pro at http://www.sandscomputing.com/

They have a trial version that last 30 days that is FREE! And if you like it you can purchase the software for only $65 bucks! It is very user friendly and a very resonable price! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks!

Some GIRLY outfits!

Making a few things for my little princess...lots more in the works but had to take a break for Holiday Fun!! Now trying to get the blogs caught back up in order to make more fun things ;)
First up...I picked up these pants from Kelly's Kids and the blank shirt from Blanks Boutique! I actually stole this idea from my friend Candice!! Super cute!! Used the embroidery circles from GG Designs and merged in the E using the dollhouse font from The Itch 2 Stitch!
Outfit number 2 is Em chevron pants from her Halloween outfit. I wanted to get some more wear out of them so I made her another shirt to go with them. I grabbed this lettuce edge shirt from Walmart. The raggy double circle patch is from Applique Cafe and I merged in the E using the JellyBean font from The Itch 2 Stitch!

Outfit number 3 and 4 are the same just a tad different. I love the simple look of a monogram to match some girly ruffle pants!! Red minky ruffle pants I got from Smockadot last year on clearance and the purple minky double ruffle pants I picked up from a Kelly's Kids sale. The blank shirts are from Blanks Boutique!

Let's GO VOLS!!

I know football season is over....but my son is obsessed with sports and all he wants me to make him is sports things so.....I got this pull over and matching fleece pants from Children's Place. I embroidered the power T from Applique Frenzy!! Love how it turned out!! And so did Max for that matter!!
This is a simple applique from Lynnie Pinnie and I merged in VOLS using the Cleopatra font from 8 Claws and a Paw!

Christmas Outfits!!

Christmas outfits for my kids!!
I LOVED how this one turned out!! I actually picked up these pants from a lady recently going out of business and the shirt too for that matter. Then I found this applique on Etsy to match the pants. So stinking cute and even cuter on my little princess!! The applique came from Pick and Stitch. She has other appliques to match this Michael Miller fabric too!! Check her out!!
Emery's Christmas Dress!! I scored this dress from Remember Nguyen and I embroidered the trees from Embroidery Boutique. I actually skipped the steps to add the star and ornaments and just did a simple green tree. Then I merged in the E using Curly Monogram font. I honestly have no idea where this font came from but it is super cute!!

I also made the kids some fun Santa shirts!! Max's shirt I used a new font I got called New Times Roman font from My Glam Boutique.  Love the classic look of it!! Then I merged in the mini applique hat from Applique Cafe!!
Emery's name I embroidered using the Delightful font from G G Designs and did the same hat from Applique Cafe!! Super easy and cute!! Max's blank shirt was from Walmart and Emery's was a Monag lettuce edge shirt.
I also made Max a "I Believe" shirt found in Christmas in the Valley post.
And lastly I made this little get up!! The skirt I made using some Ann Kelle Christmas ornament fabric and some Michael Miller Ta Dot fabric. Then I made her shirt to simi match. The ornament design is from Applique Alley and I merged in the E using the Curlz font from Jolson's Designs. The blank shirt I got from Old Navy.

Holly's Order...

These are from a while back...just getting around to posting them...
My friend Holly wanted some things for her precious kids!! She brought me all the shirts and pants and told me pretty much what she wanted ;)
Noah's shirt is an applique from Embroidery Boutique and I merged in his name using the Whoa Nelly font from 8 Claws and a Paw. The scallop applique is also from Embroidery Boutique. I used the zig zag stitch and merged in the E using the Curlz font from Jolson's Designs.
Sweet little embroidery dots from G G Designs and merged in the E using the Dollhouse font from The Itch 2 Stitch!
Just a simple Curlz E from Jolson's Designs.
And lastly a monogram font from Etsy. The shop is called Zoey's Designs and I think this one was Monogram Font 1.

Gobble Gobble!!

I have made quite a few Turkey shirts already this year for the Christmas in the Valley show...however I had to make some for my kiddos too ;) Honestly, I didn't think I would make one for my son Max because he is 4 and wasn't sure if he would want one....he proved me wrong. He asked me specifically if I was going to make him one!! Yay!! Glad he isn't growing up too fast!!

This little turkey applique comes from Applique Momma! I used the satin stitch here. I actually did it by accident on Max's shirt but I think I may like it better....I added a sweet little bow to Emery's turkey!! Got make it a little girlie ;)

Question and Answer Time

Recently I have had a lot of comments on my posts. I honestly have no idea how to respond back to people (especially when I don't realize until a month later that someone has commented). And I am so sorry for this. I don't want to seem rude...I hope no one is taking it that way. Anyways...a few questions I have had recently....
What kind of machine do you have?
I have a Brother PE 700 II. It goes up to a 5x7 size. I LOVE LOVE it!! I definitely think this is great for first timers. I wouldn't get the 4x4 machine unless you just can't afford the extra dollars to put into a bigger machine. I have fellow embroiders who wished they didn't waste their money on the 4x4 machine.

Is your machine sewing and embroidery?
No, my machine is embroidery only machine. I have a separate sewing machine that I use. I just prefer it this way as I don't want to have to switch back and forth between settings and such. I really don't know much about a joint machine.

What can your machine do?
Anything and everything you want to do with it. For example: shirts, bibs, burp cloths, towels, etc. With the exceptions of bulky items like lunch boxes, back packs and anything that you can't get your hoop into the item.

Where do you get all your blanks from?
Everywhere...LOL
No really I get them at Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Children's Place, Monag, and recently a new place I LOVE called Blanks Boutique! I also find random things other places to monogram or put an applique on ;)

Okay I think that covers the few questions I have had lately. Please Please let me know if you have any other questions or need some pointers. I would be happy to help!!

getting a start of FALL stuff!!

I meant to post this a while back...however I didn't get the pants made to go with the shirt until just days before Halloween ;) Love love this cute top I made for Em. The applique is a ghost patch and it comes from Applique Market. I merged in the E using the Jelly Bean font from The Itch 2 Stitch!
Max's shirt is the bat from Embroidery Boutique. I used the zigzag option. Simple and cute!
Kids together with their adorable outfits!! I made the pants using a really easy pant pattern from Viola Lee Patterns on Etsy. It is called the Becky Lee Ruffle Pants. So so cute if you like the longer ruffle style!!
I got the black short sleeve shirts from Walmart (boys and girl) and the brown short sleeve shirt was from Old Navy.
These pair of pants were using the same pattern. I actually made them first to see if I would like them. Turned out I LOVED them and so did Em. Anyways...the candy corn applique is from Embroidery Boutique!
And lastly, a little dress I picked up online from Monag. I used the Dollhouse font from The Itch 2 Stitch and the applique pumpkin at the bottom is from Applique Cafe! So so cute!!
