Some helpful software info...

I have had many questions about what software I use to merge appliques and fonts and I wanted to let everyone know that I use Sew What Pro.

You can find info about Sew What Pro at http://www.sandscomputing.com/

They have a trial version that last 30 days that is FREE! And if you like it you can purchase the software for only $65 bucks! It is very user friendly and a very resonable price! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks!

Baby Gifts!!

Haven't made too many things in the past few months...although I have spit out a few baby gifts!! First up is a sweet little gift for my friend and co-worker Cara. I used the Applique Cafe baseball glove applique and merged in the name using the Cleopatra font from 8 Claws and a Paw. Then made the little baby toy (a in the hoop design) from GG designs also merged in the name using Cleopatra.
For some church friends....Baby Eden got a onesie with Applique Cafe's zigzag butterfly applique with Eden merged in using Grins and Giggles font from Applique Frenzy. The bib is done using Embroidery Boutique's cross applique and I merged in the word blessed using the Chloe font from Embroidery Boutique.
Next sweet baby gift for a church friend. Bib is same as above. The onesie I merged in the name using the Love Letters font from Jolson's Designs.
Baby blankets with Madison's name using the Love Letters font from Jolson's Designs. Simple and CUTE!!
And lastly a baby gift for someone else to give. A GO TIGERS gown. I used the paw print from Embroidery Boutique and merged in the Go Tigers using the Millie font from Jolson's designs.

a few baby gifts!

Our lovely Sunday school class is full of pregnant ladies!! So so fun!! We have been having a few diaper and wipes showers lately so I have been busy making a few items for each little bundle of joy!!
First combo..The baseball mitt applique is from Applique Cafe and I merged the name in using the Cleopatra font from 8 Claws and a Paw. The applique B on the bib is from Planet Applique. It is a baseball font package!! ALL BOY!!
This funky little combo turned out pretty cute for a sweet little sister!! The flower applique comes from SWAK embroidery and I merged in the name using the Jelly Bean font from Etsy. The applique lower case b on the bib is done using the Anna Kate font from Applique Momma.
Little ladybug combo...the ladybug applique is from SWAK and I merged in the name using the Grin and Giggles font from Applique Frenzy. The L on the bib is from 8 Claws and a Paw..I think the Ladybug font...
And lastly...a sweet little combo...the raggy cross applique is from Applique Cafe and I merged in the name using the font Love Letters from Jolson's Designs. The Jesus Loves Me is an embroidery design from Embroidery Online. com
Love making some sweet baby gifts!! And for those of you that have been asking I get the bibs from ToysRus/BabiesRus in a 10 pack. I got the burp clothes from Target they are Gerber 6 ply..very thick! I usually get Carters onesies but I couldn't find any blank white 3 months so I picked up a pack of Gerber. They worked out great but they are not as thick as Carters.

a little bit of everything...

Making a few things for the kids here and there...
This little number I merged mini sailboat embroidery designs with the M from Jolson's designs. White shirt is from Target and shorts from Kohls!
Next up a little outfit for the beach...The fish design is from Stitch on Time. I made the shorts from some fabric I picked up at Lace Cottage a while back! Love it!
Max's Birthday Outfit! Same design as last year (except I left off his name this year) from Planet Applique. I did use different colors to match the "basketball" shorts Max picked out at Walmart! Shirt and shorts from Walmart where a whooping $3.88 each! Can't beat that! I didn't take a picture of the back but their is an appliqued 4 on the back in the blue and white gingham fabric.
A few things for little Miss Emery!! I got this adorable ribbon design from Applique Market! I merged in Emery's name using the Love Letters font from Jolson's Designs! The shirt I picked up at Children's Place last year on clearance!
This was my first attempt at putting a design on the side seam! It turned out pretty cute. First pic is the front of the shirt. The applique comes from Applique Cafe! I got the shirt from Old Navy!
And the back of the shirt! I made the skirt using a pattern I got from You Can Make This. Com!! It is super simple!!
A few pair of bloomers for Emery's smocked dresses! Both of these fonts came from a site off of Etsy and I don't have any clue where I got them...
Last up a baby gift I made for a friend...she said she wanted something that was cute and something TN football! I went with this cute little elephant applique from Lynnie Pinnie and merged in his name using the Whoa Nelly font from 8 Claws and a Paw. The TN design is from Etsy and I merged in his name using the Cleopatra font from 8 Claws and a Paw!
More to post later...mostly baby gifts and a few more things for my kids...

a few things...

My friend Melissa dropped off a few things the other day for me to monogram for her. I almost told her I lost the things she brought so I could put Emery's name on them!! LOL I love this dress she found at a consignment sale below!! I put Zoey's name on it using the Curlz font!! So stinking cute!!
And just how precious is this sunsuit that doubles for a swimsuit!! She had this made for her daughter!! I just added a Z using the curlz font!
Melissa got these little onesies and pants from Walmart for a baby gift. I added the name Charlie using the Millie font from Jolson's Designs.
And lastly, Max's old teacher Mrs. Shana brought me a blanket to monogram. She also got this at Walmart! So cute!! I added the name Aubree using the Delightful font from G G designs. Yay, for new babies!!

a baby gift

Emery's teacher asked me to make a baby gift recently. She wanted something for the big sister as well and something that would work for Easter too...

I love the design she picked out and I LOVE that she told me to be creative!! I have so much fun picking out the fabrics and seeing the finished product!!
This sweet little raggy cross is from Applique Cafe. I merged in the girls names using the Delightful font from GG designs.

Simple and WAY CUTE!!! Love how they turned out!!

baby girl gift

Actually made this gift a while back but haven't been able to post it as it was a baby gift for a sorority sister of mine. Her best friend contacted me and asked me to make this onesie. She wanted me to make it just like a mutual friend of ours made...give a shout out to Jessica from www.lovefromtexas.com

The anchor applique is from Applique Cafe and I honestly have no idea what font I used to make her name!
I love love how they turned out!!

Our sorority is DG so these were "legacy" clothes so to speak. Hoping that Candice and Natasha loved them as much as I did!!

baby gifts

Been working on some baby gifts for friends lately and having a lot of fun with it!! The first ensemble was a baby gift for my friend Natalie! I love this little football design from Applique Alley. It is actually a patch design that I just deleted the patch part and merged in the name using the Whoa Nelly Font. The T applique is from Etsy and I merged in the font with Tipsy Font from Applique Frenzy!

This second one was for my friend Tracy! The gown I used the scallop patch from Embroidery Boutique and just deleted the inner patch. The monogram is KK Monogram Font from 8 Paws and a Claw. The bloomers I used the Curlz font from Jolson's Designs and the bib design I can't remember where that is from.
And the rest of the pictures were for a friend Monica who's best friend was having a baby. She brought me some stuff and told me to do my thing! So I did!!

I think it turned out pretty stinking cute!

This little sailboat is one of my new favorites. I merged in the little monogram which I think made it super cute!! This little sailboat is from Planet Applique.

And I LOVE this little alligator too! This sweet applique is from Lynnie Pinnie!

And I just thought this one turned out pretty cute too! The applique letter is from the Landon applique font from Planet Applique and I merged the name in using Whoa Nelly Font from 8 Paws and a Claw.

So fun to make baby stuff!!

a baby gift!

One of my best friends from college had a baby girl in January. I have finally been able to sew around here again so I threw together a few cute things for baby Tenley! This gift actually started with the cute lil smocked bubble from Remember Ngyugen and I took it from there! I had a little fun with being all matchy matchy :)

It's Been a While!

Well, I am slowly getting back into the sewing world!
Our newest model, Emery was born August 27th at 5:55pm weighing 7lbs 5oz and 19in!
Big Brother Max was so excited!
Life with a 2 yr old and a newborn has been a BIG adjustment but we are loving every minute of it! I have to say we are truly blessed! God is so good!
Emery will be 6 weeks old on Friday! I can't believe how fast the time is going! We are slowly but surely getting adjusted so I thought it was time to start sewing again! It just makes me feel so good that I can make fun creative things for my kids and of course for others! With that being said I am not ready to take on alot of orders from friends just yet...maybe after the holidays I will be back in full swing!

and a few more things for miss emery!

So, I have been able to make a few more things for Emery! This little blanket I got from Babytime for like 12 dollars!! There is NO way I could have made this blanket for that price! So soft and sweet! Thought it just had to have her name on it!
A few more burp cloths! I now have 5 for her but would like to make a few more! I am pretty sure you can't have enough of these things!!! Used the heat and bond on the ribbon this time and it turned out so much better!

Here are a few little newborn onesies I picked up at Walmart for $2 bucks a piece! Added a little name or initial and wala you have a super cute little onesie!

Now...to get started on some fall things for both my kids!!! I think that is going to have to wait until after Miss Emery gets here and we all get adjusted! Only 6 more days until baby girl arrives....well, that is unless she decides to come earlier!
